What is CPC?

CPC (cost per click) is the price you pay when someone clicks your ad.

In Google Ads you pay per click, not per impression. The price is set in an auction and depends on competition, your bid and the quality of your ad and landing page.

A low CPC alone means little. What matters is how many clicks you need for one order or inquiry, because that decides the cost per conversion.

Formula

CPC = ad spend / clicks

Example

You spend 300 EUR and get 1,000 clicks. Your CPC is 0.30 EUR.
